Yvel Guichet – Comic Artist & Creator


Yvel Guichet is a self‑taught comic artist who broke into the industry in 1992 at Valiant Comics, fresh from his first year of art school in Brooklyn, New York. He honed his craft on numerous independent projects before landing at DC Comics in 1998.

At DC, Guichet worked on a wide range of titles, including multiple Batman books, Aquaman, Justice League, Legion Worlds, Man of Steel, StormWatch, Trinity of Sin, and Black Lightning. He also contributed to the critically acclaimed first appearance of Harley Quinn in the Batman: The Animated Universe continuity (Batman: Harley Quinn, 1999).

Guichet co‑created the teen superhero series The Relative Heroes, which became one of the first co‑creator‑owned properties to be published within the DC Universe. His independent work includes Legendary Comics’ Pacific Rim: Awakening, Godzilla: Awakening, Dark Horse’s ArchEnemies (co‑creator), and more recently, Punchline & the Vaude Villains. He has served as co‑creator, artist, and character designer for Finem Mundi Comics’ titles Dahlia, Infernal, Schism, and others.

His credits also include work for Marvel on ESPN’s X‑Men and Black Panther.
Guichet is currently writing and illustrating his own graphic novel series, Evany Starr & Midnight Penn: STARRFALL™ – a dark, reality‑bending story about memory, conspiracy, and two sisters caught inside a forgotten urban catastrophe.
