The Remidy Saga Original Story 1990

Blog Post: The Story I Wrote Before I Knew I Really Wanted To Write

When I was 17, I had a midterm essay due for my high school English class. Instead of writing about someone else’s book, I asked my teacher if I could turn in a story of my own. She said yes. I wrote a seven‑page sci‑fi outline called *Remidy Saga*.

I got a 95%. I never looked at it again.

REMEDY SAGA
"Unwanted War"

Reconstructed Draft Edition
Based on the original high school manuscript by Yvel G.

INTRODUCTION

Earth Year 2181.

But do not imagine this era as a time of glory or peace.

Humanity had become more industrialized than ever before. Technology, medicine, cybernetics, weapons manufacturing, and scientific advancement had become the main priorities of the world’s nations. Entire cities were rebuilt around production and military expansion. Although many people still dreamed of peace, war and crime had evolved into something far larger than anyone expected.

The old criminal empires had transformed into organized military powers.

One of the largest was a criminal organization known as the Armacross. It had become the most dangerous mercenary force since the wars of 2092. The Armacross robbed institutions, stole advanced weaponry, hijacked spacecraft blueprints, and remanufactured military technology for profit. Their influence had grown so massive that they resembled an army more than a criminal syndicate.

At the same time, another force had risen to oppose them.

A global defense organization known as Remidy had been assembled from the world’s most elite soldiers, police forces, naval divisions, pilots, scientists, and cybernetic specialists. Experimental androids and bio-cybernetic soldiers were also added to their ranks. Enhanced humans and powerful loners from across the planet eventually joined the organization as well.

The conflict between Remidy and the Armacross
had already begun to spread across the globe.

But neither side realized that something far worse was approaching Earth.

Something no human being could fully understand.

This story would become the account of two leaders caught in the middle of a war that neither side truly controlled.

One was human.

The other was not.

CHAPTER 1 – The Meeting

Monday, May 13, 2181.

A confidential council meeting was held inside a secured building in Florida. Several high-ranking Remidy generals and commanders attended the meeting to discuss military operations, adversaries, and global security plans.

I was not inside the auditorium when it happened.

None of us expected the week to end the way it did.

Two hours into the discussion, three heavily armed intruders entered the building through an upper-level window. Security forces attempted to stop them, but the attackers moved through the hallways with terrifying speed. Gunfire echoed through the building as guards were shot down one after another.

Within minutes, the intruders reached the auditorium.

Before reinforcements could arrive, every important member of the meeting had been captured.

I quickly sent an emergency message to Remidy Headquarters, but it was already too late.

The attackers had called in backup.

Everyone was forced aboard an enormous spacecraft unlike anything humanity had ever seen.

That was the last time anyone on Earth saw the ship.

CHAPTER 2 – Emperor Terminal

I later learned what happened aboard the vessel through the testimony of Commander Samuel Sparks.

According to Sparks, the prisoners were not thrown into cells. Instead, they were given quarters and treated more like unwilling guests.

The ship belonged to an alien emperor named Terminal.

Terminal was one of three rulers from a distant world called Ronin. Their civilization was technologically advanced, wealthy, and powerful, but it had recently suffered a catastrophic invasion.

An alien species known as the Edraphius had attacked the planet.

Most of Ronin’s population had either been slaughtered or turned into brainwashed slaves. Entire industrial districts had been destroyed. Production facilities collapsed. Defensive systems failed. The Ronin armies were no longer strong enough to survive another large-scale attack.

The Edraphius demanded that sections of the planet be surrendered so they could establish permanent operations across Ronin.

The Ronin emperors refused.

Determined to save their people, the three emperors left their world in search of weapons, medicine, scientists, and soldiers.

Unfortunately, Terminal was not interested in asking for help.

He intended to take it.

CHAPTER 3 – The Prisoners

Sparks and the others quickly realized they had not been kidnapped at random.

Terminal explained that each prisoner had been specifically chosen for a purpose.

The older generals were expected to become military advisers and division leaders. The commanders would lead combat squads during the coming war.

Sparks immediately argued against the plan.

He warned Terminal that humans had no reason to fight in an alien conflict.

But Terminal refused to listen.

To force cooperation, the emperor demonstrated his power by nearly killing Commander Blue Break. Terminal partially drained the moisture from Blue Break’s body, leaving him close to death.

The threat worked.

Most of the prisoners reluctantly agreed to help.

Still furious over what had happened, Sparks continued questioning Terminal throughout the journey.

He asked why Earth had been targeted.

Terminal explained that humans were mentally adaptable and physically resilient enough to survive combat training. He believed Earth’s military forces could strengthen Ronin’s weakened armies.

But Sparks saw the truth.

The humans were being dragged into a war that did not belong to them.

CHAPTER 4 – The Escape

Not everyone accepted captivity.

Three commanders escaped from their guarded quarters after a female commander known as Timberwolf disabled one of the alien guards. With the help of Razor Blade and Trassle, the group fled deeper into the massive ship.

As they moved through the corridors, they avoided deadly traps and security patrols while searching for a way off the vessel.

During their escape, they discovered other prisoners aboard the ship.

Some were not human.

Many had also been captured and forced into Terminal’s war.

One rescued prisoner warned them that Earth itself would eventually become a target of the Edraphius invasion.

Meanwhile, Sparks attempted once again to convince Terminal to release the humans.

Terminal claimed he would return everyone home after the war was over.

Sparks did not believe him.

CHAPTER 5 – Ronin

As the journey continued, Terminal revealed more about his people.

The Ronin had once lived on a rich and highly advanced world filled with technology, science, and massive industrial cities. But the Edraphius despised their civilization.

According to Terminal, the Edraphius hated the Ronin for their wealth, advancement, and cultural differences.

The invaders were enormous creatures, far larger and physically stronger than humans.

Most stood between eight and ten feet tall.

Their attacks had devastated entire planetary systems.

Even Terminal admitted that defeating them would require enormous sacrifice.

Sparks confronted him again.

“What chance do humans have against creatures that strong?”

Terminal answered coldly.

“Not much. But without help, Ronin dies.”

CHAPTER 6 – The Hidden Ronin

After two days of travel, the ship finally arrived at Ronin.

The planet was already preparing for war.

The other two emperors had returned with armies, weapons, medicine, and military support gathered from distant systems.

During this time, Blue Break slowly recovered from his injuries.

Meanwhile, Timberwolf and the escaped commanders remained hidden somewhere aboard the ship.

Terminal became increasingly frustrated over their disappearance.

Sparks secretly realized that the missing commanders might become the only real advantage the humans had.

Especially Timberwolf.

According to Sparks, her strange abilities made it almost impossible for enemies to track or physically touch her. She could hide both herself and others from detection for short periods of time.

Eventually, the escapees encountered a mysterious hooded alien who had secretly followed them during their escape.

The figure wore a dark cowl and long robes that concealed most of his body.

He introduced himself only as Sauna.

Unlike Terminal, Sauna openly criticized the Ronin emperors.

He believed their desperation had driven them into cruelty.

Although he wanted to save his people, he believed forcing others into war was evil.

Sauna promised the commanders that he would help them return home.

But first, they would need to survive what was coming.

CHAPTER 7 – The Attack

Two more days passed.

Then the attack began.

Without warning, explosions ripped across Ronin’s military districts. Bombs crashed into buildings as emergency alarms echoed across the planet.

The Edraphius had arrived.

Sparks and the other commanders suddenly found themselves thrown into the middle of combat.

Their combat unit consisted of Sparks, Blue Break, Iris, Overton, Gerekai, the councilor, and several generals.

During the chaos, Sparks carried the wounded Iris across collapsing structures after a laser blast pierced her armor.

The group fought desperately toward the space docks while explosions consumed the city around them.

That was when they encountered the missing commanders.

Timberwolf, Razor Blade, and Trassle had already secured a ship.

Alongside them stood Sauna.

One by one, the survivors boarded the vessel while explosions thundered behind them.

As the ship launched away from Ronin, Sparks looked back at the burning world below.

He asked Sauna what would happen to the planet.

The hooded Ronin stared silently out at the war consuming his homeworld.

Then he answered.

“Whatever happens now… my people brought this punishment upon themselves.”

The ship disappeared into deep space.

Behind them, the war for Ronin had only just begun.

And somewhere beyond the battlefield, the Edraphius were still coming.

END

But the story continues...
